What arrives
Everything is hand-packed in Noida and posted in protective outer packaging — that part is not optional and is what stops a book arriving with bent corners. Gift wrapping sits inside that.
So the recipient opens a plain shipping parcel and finds a wrapped object in it, rather than a wrapped object coming through the post looking like a wrapped object. That is deliberate: decorative paper on the outside of a parcel does not survive a sorting facility. The outer label carries the recipient’s name and address, and nothing on it gives the sender away.

When it is worth asking for
When it ships straight to the recipient. This is the main case. You are not there to wrap it, so wrapping is the only way the object arrives as a gift rather than as a delivery.
When it arrives close to the date. One less thing to do the night before.
When someone else hands it over. A sibling, a colleague, a friend receiving it on your behalf.
When to skip it
When you want to check it first. If it comes to you, you may want to look through the book before it goes — and it is worth doing. Wrapping it means unwrapping it.
When you are adding something. A card, a letter, something small alongside. Easier to wrap the whole set yourself.
When the wrapping is part of the gesture. If you would rather wrap it badly yourself than have it wrapped neatly by strangers, that is a real preference and often the right one.
The note question
If it is going straight to the recipient, they need to know who it is from. Say so when you order — a wrapped parcel from an unknown sender is a puzzle rather than a gift, and it is an easy thing to forget on a surprise delivery. Delivering to someone else →
What to put on it. The note is small and it is read first, so give it only what the recipient needs at the moment of opening:
- The name they call you. “From Didi” or “From Chhotu and Riya”, not the full name on your bank card. A recipient who cannot place the sender for three seconds loses the moment.
- The occasion, if the date will not make it obvious. A gift that arrives four days early needs “For your birthday on the 14th”.
- One line, not a letter. The letter belongs inside, where it lasts.
- For a group gift, everyone or a collective. A handful of names reads well; past that, “From all of us at the Pune office” reads better than a list.
Send the wording exactly as you want it to read, names spelt the way the recipient spells them.

Wrapping buys you a “do not open until”
Delivery runs to a window rather than a day you choose, so a gift heading for a fixed date often arrives before it. This is where the inner wrapping earns its place: the recipient opens the courier parcel, finds a wrapped gift and a note, and can keep it for the day. Add “Open on the 14th” to the note and an early arrival becomes part of the surprise instead of spoiling it.

When somebody else signs for it
Parcels to a family home, a hostel or an office are often received by someone other than the recipient — a parent, a warden, a receptionist. With a plain outer parcel and the gift wrapped inside, that person knows a parcel came and nothing more. Not the price of the object, not the flat ₹70 delivery, and not the timeline — 5 to 14 days from order to doorstep, 5 to 12 to Delhi NCR either way. Wrapping happens at packing, which is after everything that actually takes time.
