1. You have under 120 photographs

Before you switch formats entirely
Several of the six have a middle answer that keeps the album and removes the problem.
Shrink it rather than abandon it. For an older recipient, a 20-page album at ₹1,299 is a different object in the hand from a 100-page one, and it is still hardcover and lay-flat. At about 80 photographs, it is room for the faces that matter most to them.
Split the archive by weight. Put the eighty photographs that matter most into a 20-page album for the shelf, and the rest into a 24-page magazine at ₹699 for the bag, the bedside or the relative abroad.

Signs you are choosing it for the wrong reason
Four thoughts worth catching yourself in:
- “It’s a big occasion, so it should be the big one.” The size of the occasion does not change the size of the archive.
- “The magazine looks too simple for a 60th.” A magazine designed around sixty years of photographs is not simple; it is the right size.
- “It will look better on the shelf.” It will, and the shelf is where it stays if the person it was made for cannot comfortably hold it.
