Packing it so it arrives
Three things, and the first is the one nobody does.
Flat, in the middle, between clothes. Not upright down the side of the case, which is where corners get crushed.
Not in a hard corner of the bag. Suitcase corners take the impact.
In its packaging if possible. The shipping packaging is designed for exactly this and weighs nothing.
What travels badly
Loose prints without a sleeve. They bend, and once a print has a crease it is permanent. If prints are travelling, keep them in the packaging they arrived in rather than loose in a folder.
Card decks without the box. Cards are individually fine and collectively easy to scatter.
Anything with a rigid cover in soft luggage. A hardcover album in a duffel bag is a corner waiting to happen.
When it will move flats repeatedly
