Fifty of something is not automatically cheaper per unit. Whether it is depends on one question: are they the same, or are they fifty different things?
That distinction decides the quote, and most people asking about bulk have not separated the two.
Where the saving actually comes from
Not from paper. Not from printing, much. From design, which is the largest input and the one that does not repeat.
| You want | Design work | Per-unit cost |
|---|---|---|
| 50 copies of one book | Once | Lowest |
| 50 books, same template, different names | Once, plus data | Low |
| 50 books, each about a different person | Fifty times | Barely lower than one |
| 50 print packs, same images | Once | Low |
| 50 print packs, personal to each | Fifty times | Barely lower |
Fifty identical books is genuinely a bulk order. Fifty personal ones is fifty orders, and no honest quote pretends otherwise.
What that means for a team gift
The decision is not “how much discount can I get”. It is how much personalisation the gift actually needs, and that is a real trade with a real cost.
One book about the team, fifty copies. Cheapest by a wide margin. Everyone gets the same object, and for a shared year or a shared project that is the right gift anyway.
One book, one personal page each. Middle. The template repeats; one spread varies.
Fifty individual books. Most expensive, and appropriate for something like a long-service set rather than a Diwali run. Gifting for large teams →
The other saving nobody mentions
Delivery. Fifty copies to one office is one delivery. Fifty copies to fifty home addresses is fifty, at flat ₹70 each.
For a remote team that is ₹3,500 of delivery, and it is worth deciding deliberately rather than discovering at checkout. Gifting a remote team →
What does not get cheaper
Rush. Volume makes a deadline harder, not easier. A fifty-copy run needs more notice than one book, not less.
Revisions. They are included either way, but fifty people having opinions on one design is a different process from one person approving a proof. Name one approver.
The photograph problem. Collecting material for fifty people is the actual bottleneck, and no discount touches it.
How to ask for a quote well
Send four things and you will get a real number in one message rather than four: how many, how much varies between them, where they are going, and the date.
⚠️ The date matters more than the quantity. Fifty copies in three weeks is straightforward; fifty in five days is not, and volume is what makes that gap widen. When to order Diwali corporate gifts →
Frequently asked
Do you offer bulk discounts? For genuine repetition, yes. Fifty copies of one design costs meaningfully less per unit than fifty different designs.
Why is fifty personalised books not much cheaper? Because the largest input is design, and it repeats fifty times. Only the printing scales.
What is the cheapest way to gift a large team? One book about the team, in fifty copies. It is also often the better gift for a shared year or project.
Does delivery get cheaper in bulk? To one address, effectively yes. To fifty home addresses it is fifty flat charges, which is worth planning for.
How much notice does a bulk order need? More than a single one. Three weeks is comfortable; five days is not, and volume widens that gap.
