Corporate Gifting Budget per Employee in India

What companies actually spend per head in India, what each band buys, and the two points where a bigger budget stops improving the gift at all.

Most companies land between ₹300 and ₹1,500 a head, and the number is decided far more by headcount than by generosity — a hundred people at ₹500 is ₹50,000, and that is the conversation finance is actually having. What matters is knowing which band you are in, because each one buys a genuinely different kind of gift.

The bands, and what each buys

Per head Realistic at What it gets
₹200–300 200+ people A print set, or a good consumable
₹300–500 50–200 30 polaroid-style prints at ₹270, or a shared object
₹500–800 20–50 An 8-page magazine at ₹499, individually made
₹800–1,500 Under 20 16–24 pages, genuinely specific to each person
₹1,500+ Departures, milestones An album, usually for one person not fifty

Flat ₹70 delivery per address on top. At fifty separate home addresses that is ₹3,500 — a real line, and one routinely forgotten when the budget is set.

Where more money stops helping

Past about ₹1,300 for a printed keepsake, you are buying materials. A heavier album is a nicer object; it is not a better record. If the budget rises, buy more pages rather than better binding — more pages is more content.

Past about ₹1,500 a head for a whole team, the problem is no longer budget. Fifty expensive identical objects are still fifty identical objects. At that point the money is better spent making the gift specific — varying one element per person, or making one shared object properly — than on upgrading the material.

Where less money is genuinely fine

₹270 buys thirty polaroid-style prints. For a team that has done something together — a launch, a season, an offsite — thirty prints of the actual year beats a ₹900 branded object comfortably, and costs a third as much.

That is the commonest mistake in this category: assuming the band determines the quality of the gesture. It determines the format, not the thought.

Two costs people forget

Delivery per address. Flat ₹70 each. Distributed teams need individual delivery, and shipping in bulk to an office means a second round of postage plus the two people who never collect theirs.

Collection time. If colleagues are contributing photographs or lines, that is somebody’s week. Not a cash cost, but it is the reason bulk orders run late.

What to tell finance

Per head, plus ₹70 delivery per address, plus a contingency for the three people whose addresses arrive late. For a fifty-person team at ₹500: ₹25,000 plus ₹3,500 plus a little — call it ₹30,000 rather than ₹25,000, and the number will hold.

Timing

5 to 14 days from order to doorstep, 5 to 12 days to Delhi NCR, flat ₹70 per address. We dispatch once a week, on Mondays, so ordering by a Friday rather than over a weekend can save a full week. Allow three weeks in total for a bulk order, including collection.

Frequently asked

What is a normal corporate gifting budget per employee in India? ₹300 to ₹500 for teams over fifty, ₹500 to ₹1,000 for twenty to fifty, ₹800 to ₹1,500 under twenty. Headcount drives the number more than generosity does.

Does spending more make the gift better? Up to about ₹1,300 per keepsake, yes. Beyond that you are buying heavier materials, and for a whole team the money is better spent on making it specific than on upgrading it.

Is delivery included? No — flat ₹70 per address. For fifty home addresses that is ₹3,500 and it belongs in the budget from the start.

What can ₹300 a head actually buy? Thirty polaroid-style prints at ₹270, which for a team that has shared a real year beats a more expensive branded object.

How far ahead should we budget and order? Three weeks, including collecting addresses and any contributions. Longer around Diwali.
