A photo magazine is an editorial-format book of your own photographs — roughly four to a page, laid out in a deliberate sequence with written spreads between them, saddle-stitched rather than bound like an album. It is the format for a story with a beginning and an end. This is the hub for everything we have written about making one.
We print them from a studio in Noida, so most of what follows comes from doing it rather than from reading about it.
What it actually is
Not a photo book, not a scrapbook, not a print pack. The distinguishing feature is sequence — which image opens it, what sits opposite what, which moment gets a full page alone. That is the part a person does and software cannot.

How many photographs you need
About four fill a page. That single ratio sizes the whole thing.
- 8 pages → roughly 32 photographs, ₹499
- 16 pages → roughly 64, ₹599
- 24 pages → roughly 96, ₹699
- 40 pages → roughly 160, ₹1,099
Count before choosing a page count. A book padded to fill pages reads exactly like one, and the padding is always the images you nearly did not send.

What the paper does
300 GSM cover and 170 GSM inners. Those numbers are worth understanding because they are the fastest way to judge any seller in this category.
Below roughly 130 GSM on the inners, pages show through — you see the reverse of the next spread behind the photograph you are looking at, and the object reads as a brochure however good the printing is. A cover under about 250 GSM curls within a month.
Ask any seller for both figures. Someone who buys their own stock answers instantly.
How it gets made
Five stages, and the two slowest are conversations rather than machinery.

What to put in one
Specifics, not sentiment. “Mumbai, second week of June, you were furious about the rain” does work that “cherish these memories” does not. Generic captions announce that nobody knew anything about the picture.
The bad days too. A book of only the photographs where everyone looks good is duller than one that includes the day it all went wrong.
A shape. A trip, a year, a relationship, a friendship. Something with an ending is what makes the last page land.

When a magazine is the wrong format
Under about 30 photographs. Not enough for the smallest size without padding. A print pack at ₹270 is the honest answer.
When it will be opened weekly for a decade. Saddle-stitching is built to be read properly a few times and kept, not handled constantly. That is an album’s job.
When the images are low resolution. Chat apps compress heavily and the data is gone permanently. A soft photograph is soft at 300 GSM.
When the date is under a week. There is a design and proofing stage before anything prints. Three days is a gift card.
