Most Indian wedding packages include an album. So before commissioning another one, the honest question is what a second album would contain that the first does not.
Sometimes the answer is nothing, and we would rather say so.
What the photographer’s album is
Their coverage, their edit, their sequence — usually the day itself, from preparation to reception, in chronological order and at high production value.
It is comprehensive about one day, and it is already paid for.
The three genuine reasons for a second
1. Everything that is not the day. The run-up, the planning, the flat full of boxes, the tasting where the food was bad. No photographer was there for any of it, and it exists only on the phones of people who were around.

2. Guest photographs. Two hundred people photographed the day from angles the photographer could not occupy, and those images are in a WhatsApp group that will be dead within a year.

The rights question
Worth knowing: the photographer usually holds copyright in their images, and what you can do with the files depends on your contract with them.
Most Indian wedding contracts grant personal-use rights that cover printing your own album, but it is a question to ask them rather than to assume. Guest photographs and your own are yours without ambiguity.

If the package album is coming, make the run-up book instead. 20 to 40 pages of the months before, which nobody else has and nobody else can make.
It is cheaper than a second wedding album, it does not duplicate anything, and it is consistently the one people say they did not expect.
