The one-year rule
Under about a year, the strongest version is not a retrospective at all. It is something small and specific: thirty prints at ₹270, or an eight-page book about one thing you actually did together.

After several years, narrow rather than widen
The instinct with a long relationship is comprehensiveness. The better move is a constraint: one year, one trip, one theme. A book of “us, all of it” has no shape; a book of last year has a beginning and an end.

The timing trap specific to this date
Valentine’s is the single most compressed made-to-order window of the year. Everybody orders in the same fortnight, and the date does not move.
