Sangeet and Mehendi Gift Ideas

Guests do not give at sangeet or mehendi. The wedding party does, and this is the ceremony where those gifts land — plus what the couple can give back.

The honest answer for most people reading this is: nothing. Sangeet and mehendi are not gifting ceremonies. There is no gift table, nobody is counting, and arriving with a wrapped box makes the room slightly awkward rather than pleased.

There are two exceptions, and they are the reason this page exists.

The two exceptions

The wedding party gives here. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, the cousins who have been running the choreography for six weeks — this is when they hand each other things, usually in the morning before hair and makeup, or late at night after.

The couple gives back here. If the couple are thanking the people who made the week happen, sangeet or mehendi is when it lands. On the wedding day nobody has a free hand.

Who Gives at sangeet or mehendi?
A guest No
A close friend not in the wedding party No — give at the engagement
Bridesmaids and groomsmen Yes, to each other and to the bride or groom
The couple Yes, to the wedding party
Either family No — that happened at the roka

What the wedding party gives

Small, personal and quick to open, because there are eleven other things happening. Three that fit:

Prints. A pack of thirty from ₹270 — the six years of photographs behind the two days everyone is dressed up for. Easy to hand over, easy to look at in a chaotic room.

A card deck. The 27-card deck at ₹999, one card per memory. It survives being passed around a table of ten, which a book does not. Photo Card Deck →

A short magazine. Eight pages at ₹499, sized for a morning where nobody has half an hour.

Flat ₹70 delivery anywhere in India.

What the couple gives the wedding party

Usually one thing per person, usually identical, and the constraint is quantity rather than budget. Print packs work at this scale; so do short magazines if the group is small.

Ordering several copies is a single conversation rather than several orders, and everything is designed once and printed however many times. Group gifting maths →

Why it does not work to give the couple something here

They are getting ready. There is a room of forty people, a photographer, and a schedule someone is losing control of. Anything handed over gets put down, and there is a real chance it stays in a hotel room.

Give at the engagement, or weeks after the wedding. Gifts after the wedding →

Timing

5 to 14 days from order to doorstep, 5 to 12 to Delhi NCR, dispatched every Monday. Sangeet is usually the day before the wedding, so work back from the ceremony you are giving at, not from the wedding date. Ordering for a fixed date →

Frequently asked

Do you give gifts at a sangeet? Guests do not. The wedding party does, and the couple often gives back to the wedding party at the same time.

What do bridesmaids give at mehendi? Something small and personal that opens in a minute — prints, a card deck, a short magazine. The room does not have time for more.

Can I give the couple something at sangeet? You can, but it will be put down and possibly left behind. The engagement or the weeks after the wedding are both better.

How many copies do we need for the wedding party? One per person. It is designed once and printed however many times you need.

Is a card deck better than a book at a sangeet? For a table of ten, yes. A deck gets passed around; a book gets read by one person.
