A wall is the only place a gift is seen without anyone choosing to look at it. Everything else — books, decks, diaries — requires a decision to open. That difference is worth more than it sounds.
What actually goes on a wall

Where they should not go

A bathroom or kitchen splashback. Humidity and grease.
Tape directly onto paint. This is the one that ends badly for the recipient rather than the prints. Washi tape, small clips on a string, or putty; not packing tape.
Who a wall gift is right for
Anyone who has just moved. A bare wall in a new flat, a hostel room, a first place away from home. Prints change a room in ten minutes and nothing else at this price does.
Anyone at a desk all day. Seen constantly, without ceremony.
Someone who will not sit down and read a book. Not a criticism, just a fact about some people, and a wall works around it entirely.
What a wall cannot do
Hold a sequence. Prints have no order, so a story with a beginning and an end loses its shape. If the chronology is the point, that wants a book.
Survive being complete. Prints get lost, sun-bleached, taken down. A closed book is still intact in twenty years. For something meant to last, the wall is the wrong shelf.
Carry much text. A caption strip holds a line. Anything longer belongs on a page.
