Here is what happens after every group trip, without exception.
Four hundred photographs across eight phones. A shared album that six people join and two do not. Everyone says “we should print these”. Nobody does. Within a year the album is buried, two phones have been replaced, and the trip exists as a vague warm feeling and three pictures somebody posted.
The fix takes one evening and one person deciding to do it.
Do it within a month
This is the whole timing rule and it matters more than anything else here.
A month after the trip, everyone will send you their photographs within a day. Six months later you will get four replies out of eight, and the person with the best camera roll will have factory reset their phone.
The window is short and it closes quietly.
The collection message that works
One message, one specific ask, one deadline:
Printing a book of the trip. Send me your ten best by Sunday and one line about your favourite bit. Blurry is fine.
That gets replies. “Can everyone add to the shared album” does not, and never has.
Ask for a specific number. Ten is the right ask — small enough to feel easy, large enough to produce material. “Send whatever you have” produces nothing from anyone.
Structure it by day, not by person
Group trips have a natural chronology and it is the right one to use, because the trip had an arc: the travel, the first evening, the middle, the thing that went wrong, the last night.
Organising by person produces eight small galleries. Organising by day produces a book.
Include the boring parts. The airport, the waiting, the vehicle, the arguing about where to eat. Group trips are remembered for the logistics as much as for the destination, and nobody photographs those on purpose.
Sizing and cost
Four photographs fill a page, and eight people sending ten each is eighty images.

Copies are the point here. The design is done once and each additional copy is another copy, so one per person split across the group is a small amount each — usually less than the group spent on one dinner during the trip.

Reunions are the other occasion
For a reunion the material is different: not one trip but years, and a lot of it is old.
The strongest version brings then and now onto the same page — the same people, the same place if possible, photographed again. It requires a small amount of organising on the day and it is the thing everyone will actually look at.
Assign one person to take the deliberate photographs at the reunion itself. Left to chance you get four hundred candid shots and none of the group together.
What to avoid
A shared cloud album as the gift. It is the collection step. Everyone already has one and nobody opens it.
Waiting for consensus on the selection. Eight editors produce nothing. One person edits and everyone accepts it.
Including something unkind. Trips generate in-jokes that read differently in print, permanently, in front of other people. If one person hesitates, cut it.
Only final-day photographs. Everybody photographs the last night. The middle of the trip is thinner and better.
When not to bother
When the group is not close. A colleagues’ trip does not need a commemorative object and it will sit in a drawer.
When somebody cannot afford their share. Set the per-head number low. Money in a friend group is more delicate than it looks.
When the trip did not go well. Some do not. Commemorating a trip where two people fell out is not the kindness it appears to be.
When it has been over a year. The material will have degraded and the response rate will be poor. If you want to do it anyway, do it for the next trip instead.
Timing
5 to 14 days from order to doorstep, 5 to 12 to Delhi NCR, flat ₹70 anywhere. Dispatch is weekly on Mondays, so a Friday order catches that week’s dispatch and a weekend order waits seven days. Add two to four days for design and your proof approval.
Allow three to four weeks total: a week for collecting, a week for the edit, then the order.
