Best Format for Rakhi

Rakhi has the deepest archive of any occasion and the most rigid deadline. What a sibling book should contain, and why cash is not the competition here.

Rakhi has something no other occasion in this category has: the deepest archive you will ever have access to, and a date that does not move by a single day.

Siblings share a childhood. That is twenty years of photographs sitting in a cupboard at a parent’s house, almost entirely unused.

The archive is the whole advantage

A partner has a few years. A friend has the years since you met. A sibling has everything from the beginning, including the part before either of you could choose your clothes.

That makes the childhood book the strongest Rakhi brief there is, and it is the one nobody else in their life is positioned to make.

16 to 24 pages covers a shared childhood comfortably, at ₹599 to ₹699. About four photographs fill a page. A photo book about growing up with siblings →

Years shared Pages Ours
Childhood only 12–16 ₹549–599
A whole shared childhood 16–24 ₹599–699
Childhood plus adult years 24–40 ₹699–1,099
Just this year 8 ₹499

What goes in that people leave out

The unflattering years. Siblings are unsentimental about each other, and that is exactly what makes a sibling book funny rather than sweet. The haircut, the phase, the outfit.

The parents, young. Photographs from a shared childhood contain your parents at the age you are now, which lands harder than anyone expects.

The house. Rooms that have been renovated, a car long since sold, a street that has changed. Nobody photographed those deliberately.

Where the old photographs actually are

Not on a phone. In a cupboard, in an album nobody has opened in fifteen years.

Photograph them flat, in daylight, no flash, phone parallel, filling the frame. That beats a cheap scanner and reproduces well at half-page size. It is an afternoon at your parents’ house and it is the whole job. Sending photos without losing quality →

The deadline, which is absolute

Rakhi is a fixed date announced well in advance, and it falls in a season when courier volumes are already rising.

5 to 14 days from order to doorstep, 5 to 12 to Delhi NCR. Add margin for the season and add an afternoon for photographing old prints, which has to happen before anything else. Three weeks out is comfortable; ten days is tight.

Cash is not the competition

⚠️ Worth being clear, because it changes the brief: at Rakhi, money is traditionally what a brother gives, and a keepsake does not replace it. The two do different jobs and both can happen.

That takes the pressure off the object. It does not have to justify itself against an envelope; it sits alongside one. Rakhi gift ideas for a sister →

If the sibling lives far away

Rakhi is one of the two occasions in the year when distance is most obvious. A printed object posted to another city does something a transfer does not, and we deliver to every pin code in India for a flat ₹70.

We do not deliver outside India — for a sibling abroad, have it made here and carried out by whoever visits next.

Frequently asked

What is the best Rakhi gift for a sibling? A book of the shared childhood, 16 to 24 pages. It is the deepest archive you have and the least used.

Does a keepsake replace the cash? No. At Rakhi money is traditionally what a brother gives; a keepsake sits alongside it rather than instead of it.

Where do I find childhood photographs? In an album at your parents’ house. Photograph them flat in daylight — it beats a cheap scanner.

How early should I order? Three weeks. The date is fixed, courier volumes rise in that season, and photographing old prints has to happen first.

What if my sibling is abroad? We deliver within India only. Have it made here and carried out by whoever visits next.
